MW Windows |

I bought a log cabin home (shell) 4 years ago and am finally moving in. The Mw Windows were already in and I always thought that they looked cheap. well there is not ONE window in the entire house that doesn't leak. The huge dbl pane windows in the front all leak and the seal has broken on most. The water seems to come in the bottom corner of the windows where the glass meets the wood. This is very depressing. Do we have any recourse? The house has been a true money pit. The windows are all wood dbl hung. |

rotting MW windows |

Just prior to winter, I went around all my deck windows to see they were
all closed well and couldn't believe
when I found most all of my MW casement windows installed in '96 were
rotting badly though the paint did not
show signs of this problem. I am at
a loss as to how to approach this as
I was not aware of problems such as I
have until researching how they may be
repaired and found all these problems
on this web-site. I am very surprised
and hope to get help on this issue. I do know that all are Marvin Windows & wonder if that is the same as those all referred to as MW. Thank You |

Don't know if MW stands for Marvin but probably are. I too was sick to see all the postings on rotting windows because mine are headed in that same direction. I called the company and now have a Claim#. Someone was going to come out to "repair" them this Thursday but I had to cancel because I have a commitment. They are going to call to set up an inspection. I am not holding out too much hope after what I have read on this site. |

Unfortunately the only solution is to put in replacement windows. The windows leak we had them professionally tested. They leak in the corners behind the walls. |

Just curious how you came upon this site. I "googled," leaking windows, and came upon this site.
If you are a "satisfied" customer, what are you doing on this site, and how in the heck, did you find US!!!??? |

I googled MW Windows and found this site. I am NOT a satisfied customer. I have 30 leaking windows and am NOT happy especially since I found this site and realized that MW windows are worthless as well as the company and their warranty. Is anyone interested in starting a class action suit? |

Sign me up for that! All of the windows in our home are worthless! How can a group of people initiate a class action lawsuit? What are the steps that need to be taken? |

Don't really know how to do it but there are sooo many dissatisfied customers all with the same problem. Does anyone out there know how to go about a suit? I will try and research it. |

It has been mentioned that there are MANY people that have this common problem. I agree that there are a few, but with the many thousands of installations, there are in fact just a very limited few. I doubt it could get Class Action Status. Remember, it is human nature to complain about the bad, but not post the good. My builder uses MW and in our neighborhood, 80% of the houses have these windows and there is not a single complaint. I feel for those that have had problems and think that the support that was received is a crime, but I do not think that Class Action is the way to go - single case maybe. |
