The exploded parts view of your model definitely shows 2-screws at the lower edge of the access panel (they're pan head, 8-18b x 0.31 part # 131168200 BTW).

Maybe they're just under a lip of the panel? I don't have access to an actual photo of the panel from your dryer to see how it was formed.

No. They should be accessible from the front without needing to raise the dryer.

** is this one of those that you use a screw driver to pop out the top of the kickplate and then lift up to remove? **

I think you're describing a procedure for a Whirlpool built model, yours is made by Frigidaire. The parts list for your model shows screws.
