Should we get a whole house fan?

08/20/2007 03:55 PM jschager

We are building a 3000 sq. ft. 2-story home and thought for sure we would want a whole house fan. Our builder doesn't think it's a good idea because of potential problems with carbon monoxide. I have been looking on the internet for some information to back up his concern and have found nothing. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks!

Back Drafting

I assume that he is concerned about backdrafting.

That is a possibility IF YOU RAN IT WITH ALL OF THE WINDOWS CLOSED.

But there is no reason or logic to do that.

When running the whole house fan the windows much be open.

Depending on the location and your lifestyle the whole house fan can be a big difference.

I really like mine.
