Spa Wiring

02/17/2008 10:21 AM viclibo

I have a hot tub that has only connections for 2 hots and a ground. My 50 amp sub panel has a gfci breaker with the hard wired neutral connected to the neutral bus bar in the sub panel. The GFCI itself has places for 2 load hots and 1 load neutral. Since the hot tub has no neutral point of connection, can I ignore the neutral completely?

As long as the white pigtail from the breaker is connected to the neutral bar in the subpanel, this will work with only the two hots connected to the breaker.
