I bought a couple lamps that have these odd looking fluorescent tubes that emit a bright white light – not at all like the soft, yellowish tint light from ordinary light bulbs.
The manual says to “reduce risk of exposure to excessive UV, radiation” to “not remain in direct light of lamp…do not look directly at lighted lamp…keep lamp away from materials that may burn”.
What I have to ask is do these lamps emit UV rays, and if so, how much I wonder? It also appears that replacement bulbs are available only from the store they were purchased from. Is being under the rays of these lamps like that of being under the sun?
I thought I was getting a much better quality light, but now I'm not that sure. :-(
