
Yesterday picked up Mahogany for Ken (WalnutBeagle) and myself. Ordered my Mickey D veneer packet from Ben, however, still waiting for delivery.
Questions for Tommy...Are you going to show the group how to cut the legs so the grain orientation is correct? I have seen it where a cardboard cutout in the same dimensions as the leg was used to ensure the grain of the wood is orientated from corner to corner. This is to ensure that the grain is as straight as possible in the leg. (see attached pic) Or is this overkill? Would you like us to just cut the wood to rough dimensions?
In the attached picture, I highlighted the grain direction in one of my pieces of wood in pencil for clarity.
