Steam Room Window

07/23/2009 10:47 AM chaskoenig1

I am creating a steam room by enlarging an existing bathroom with no window in a basement with no windows, adjacent to a garage. I would like to put a window in the steam room to allow light from the garage door windows to enter the steam room. What are possible 36" X 36" window applications other than glass block that provide some privacy with a maximum of light?

Glass block is probably the most common application here, but for the sake of just privacy, I would think that any frosted or translucent glass would do. Make sure it's thermal (double) pane, and I would discourage you from planning on any type movable sash, which is likely to develop problems in the future, no matter how you do it. Regardless of what you do, it should be fixed glass.
