We have started to return our "modernized" 1920's Colonial to its original splendour - we now have beautiful dark oak stairs - but the entrance hall is *WHITE* foot-square shiny ceramic tiles. Long term I'll have to rip these up and see if I can salvage the oak floor beneath, but short term we'd like to stencil over these to soften the stark look. What kind of paint and preparation should I use?
