I am in the final stages of having an addition put onto my house. Since the house is a tudor style, I think a stucco siding or a dark brown siding resembling brown clapboards would best compliment the existing house. The building is trying to dissuade me from stucco because, he says, there is potential for leakage where the wood beams are set into the stucco. He is also trying to dissuade me from wood siding because of the maintenance involved. My questions are: 1. Is he correct about the leakage problem with stucco? 2. Does anyone manufacture a dark brown vinyl or aluminum siding? 3. The builder said that there used to be a manufacturer who made "stucco boards" ("Albiaty" or something like that was the manufacturer). Does anyone know of such a product? 4. Any other suggestions? Thanks. |
