Can anyone recommend a stud finder that will locate studs in lathe and plaster walls? I have looked at about a dozen and they all state they locate studs in drywall to a depth of X". The house has had some drywall installed before I bought it, so I need one that will fit both applications.

generally...most all studfinders that have a deepscan mode...and are rated for 1 1/2"thick walls or better will work in plaster/lathe
