Table top gardening

03/22/2007 06:07 AM dsanders1

I would like to know what type of inexpensive, long lasting wood and/or other material I should purchase to build boxes for my strawberry plants. I had built boxes that were 4' X 8' X 6" deep out of regular pine. These boxes were on pressure treated legs which put gardening at countertop height. Well, the legs are fine; however, the boxes are rotting. I've read that pressure treated lumber is harmful to plants, so I need an alternative material. Thanks, dsanders
