Tankless Water Heaters

I love my tankless water heater. I intsalled a Takagi TK-1 this summer. I chose the Takagi because I have a large bathtub, and neede denough hot water throughput to fill it. The Takagi has more than met my expectations --- there's always plenty of hot water, and it can operate more than one hot water 'appliance' at a time. Get it, though, with the thermostat control --- the factory-set 140 degree water is too hot for appliances that don't mis hot and cold, like your dishwasher. Be careful about the smaller Aquastar heaters --- they're good, but don't have the same throughput and typically can only operate one hot water appliance at a time. The TK-1 is about $1,100 with thermostat and hanging bracket --- more than a tank type, but supposedly they have a much longer life.
