I put a "fish" on a side after I run on the jointer so I will know which side goes up in the planer. I didn't even pay any attention to the photo...I guess they just happened to all be on the same side.
Anyhow, I guess I just misunderstood the first post on the tennons. I understand sitting on the bottom of the mortise, I thought you meant the back (as in the surface that abuts the tennon surface that you chamfered.)
I was just curious, as I was in a hurry to get to dinner tonight and decided to chop a hair off the end of the tennon instead of really cleaning out the mortise. Thought thats what you were talking about NOT doing... nevermind...
