My electric heat pump is like the energizer bunny. It goes and goes and goes.... The temperature setting seems to be immaterial, it just wants to run non-stop. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Since it is supposed to cycle off & on, it must be controlled by a thermostat. Try disconnecting those wires and see what happens. You can test the thermostat with an ohmeter which every homeowner should have.
