Use the blue tape instead of masking tape. Also just learned a trick on textured walls. Put the blue tape on in a straight line then use a small amount of latex caulking on the side the paint will be, use your finger to smooth it out, let dry then paint. Tape pulls away and a straight line with no runs under the tape. Dont't use too much caulking or the it will show on the texture.
