Thermopane window installation

07/23/2007 09:36 PM ghostbear911

I am going to be installing some thermo pane windows in a new construction home. These windows are unframed and are low E thermo pane. I am looking for the best option to install these. The way I have seen it done before is to rough frame the opening, attach the outside molding and put the black tar stuff on the inside of molding. after the black tar strip is put on, stand the windows into the opening, using the little rubber spacers that came with them as a bottom space. Then finish the inside with trim against the window. I am looking for any other options that may be out there.

Nailing Fins

Order nailing fins for your windows. If the windows are not ordered yet request that they are factory applied. If the windows are in your garage, call and get fins that you can put on yourself.
