Hello everyone. Quick question regarding thermostat placement. Due to a remodel i will be moving my digital thermostat. I understand the reasons for keeping it off of exterior walls. My next best location is a small interior wall which is constructed around the home's brick chimney (non-wood burning, vent purposes only). The furnace is high eff. and vented via pvc so the chimney is only serving the hot water tank. I'm wondering if the radiant heat from top of the chimney exposed to direct sunlight would have a significant effect on the thermostat indoors? Also, following the furnace upgrade, and the fact that the chimney is only being used to vent the hot water tank-due you think a chimney liner is needed to prevent deterioration of brick(live in cold climate)Any thoughts are greatly appreciated. Thank you very much |
