Thermostats

11/05/2007 12:31 PM tmartj

I am looking for a thermostat that can stop the furnace at a preset temperature, say 72F and restart the furnace when the house temperature drop to say 70F...
Does such thermostat exist on the market? Thanks for any input...

Older mechanical thermostats did that regularly. Adjusting the anticipator to a larger number could make it swing from 1 degree range to as much as 6 degrees.

Yes, you really have to find out the MAKE and MODEL to get good answers. There IS more than one machine made.
