I want to cover a plain concrete front porch with some type of natural, manmade, or masonry tile. Something that will not be too slick when wet is desired. Any suggestions about type? |

I just saw a booklet on painting a faux finsh to look like tile by dipping a square piece of upholstery foam into paint colors swirled together in a pizza box. It looked nice and easy. The booklet was put out by Benjamin Moore paints and also told how to seal it. Maybe you can locate the booklet at a Benjamin Moore dealer. |

There are large reddish paving tiles made in Mexico that look great. Paramount has concrete porches on most of the older buildings, and last year they had them all covered with these tiles. It's a real improvement. There are even bullnose tiles available with ridges on the top surface near the nose edge for use on stairs. Bob used tiles from J. R. Ceramica in Tecate, Mexico, on a job he did in Malibu about ten years ago. |
