Toliet

01/24/2008 09:47 AM bjc1944

I had a high water bill, discovered it was the toliet. I replaced the toliet flapper. The water keeps running inside the toliet bowl.i have to keep shutting off the value. Is there something else wrong? Bonnie

if the tank keeps filling and the water goes down the overflow pipe then i would suspect a faulty fill valve.

1- Bad flapper /tank bulb

2- Defective fill valve or the refill tube is below the fill valve siphoning out water

3- Defective over flow tube, look down it with a flash light or put dye in your tank

4- Pitted Douglas valve
