Tools for mixing thinset

08/13/2006 09:42 PM murph76

I am getting ready to put down a ceramic tile kitchen floor and would like to know the best tool for mixing thinset . I have a 3/8 chuck drill but I think it is a little small for the job . How about 1/2 drill with more amps . Will that work without damaging the drill . Thanks for the help .

1/2" heavy duty drill with a drywall mud paddle works best for us.

go slow at first or you will throw it everywhere out of the bucket.

stand with your feet on each side of the bucket, pressing firmly against the bucket, holding it with your legs and feet.
