Trees

I need to move a (small) 8 ft. red maple tree to a new location in yard. What is best way to do that without damaging young tree? Do I do it now (fall) or in the spring? It still has some leaves left on it.

Fall is the ideal time to do all transplanting, planting, fertilizing and
pruning. Be very careful on the maple tree.
Most homeowners have a poor record in transplanting large trees and the survival rate is less than 50%. GOOD LUCK!!!
