My husband and I are planning on building a home on our own with as little help from contractors as possible. Unfortunately we have no idea how to estimate the cost of plumbing, electrical, and cabinetry. We need to have these estimates to know how much to ask for a construction loan. Also how much would it cost to turn our preliminary plans into actual blueprints? Obviously we are very early in the project, but I'd like to have things planned as close to a T as possible before really starting.

You can always get a quote form a contractor and use that as part of your estimate.
