U-G-L-Y baseboard heaters

11/07/2007 11:50 AM Mainefarmgal

I just bought a 28 year-old log cabin on a river in the Maine woods...that has not been maintained very well.
It has HW baseboard heating...and the covers are beat up, rusted, stained...ugly.
They seem to work fine, but I want to replace the covers. I cannot find a source for just the shell. I don't need to replace the whole unit and I am not intereted in painting them.
Any ideas?

The usual place to buy cover only (the baseboard package containing the sheetmetal without the elements) for baseboard is from calling plumbing/heating suppliers. That's where installers get them.

Yes, you really have to find out the MAKE and MODEL to get good answers. There IS more than one machine made.
