Dear Randy,
If the concrete floor is very level without dips or pockets, you need do nothing but mortar and install. If it has dips and pockets, use a floor leveling compound available at any home improvement store. Follow mixing directions exactly. If there are any "bumps" in the way, chisel them down even.
