Using plastic to temporarily insulate windows (i.e. for winter)

10/08/2007 05:23 PM DeadlyDad

When I was a teenager on our farm, my older brother gave me a kit to replace our then current method of stapling cardboard strips to hold down the plastic that we put over our windows each fall. It simply consisted of channels that were attached to the window frame, with a spline to hold the plastic in place. It worked /so/ well that we bought heavier plastic and reused it year after year, but now that I have a family and house of my own, I have been unable to find the channel & spline, even after spending hours with Google. Do any of you know me where I can find some?

Thnik about it!

This is exactly what I'm looking for also, but this link is a few years old and Niagra doesn't appear to have it. I'm waiting for a reply to my inquiry to Niagra. Does anyone know of the whereabouts of a product that fits this description? Winter is on the way in western Massachusetts and I need help.
