Using plastic to temporarily insulate windows (i.e. for winter)

When I was a teenager on our farm, my older brother gave me a kit to replace our then current method of stapling cardboard strips to hold down the plastic that we put over our windows each fall. It simply consisted of channels that were attached to the window frame, with a spline to hold the plastic in place. It worked /so/ well that we bought heavier plastic and reused it year after year, but now that I have a family and house of my own, I have been unable to find the channel & spline, even after spending hours with Google. Do any of you know me where I can find some?

Thnik about it!
