Using rosettes and plinth blocks

10/31/2005 03:28 PM jcifjr

I'm installing new trim around my doorways and have a problem.
My house has a framed out duct that runs along the ceiling down the middle of my house (I'm on a slab) which comes down to about 2" above the top of my doorway.
I'm using 3 1/2" fluted moulding and rosette and plinth blocks.
My question is, would the correct installation in this case be to cut the rosettes and top moulding to fit or would this look strange and unprofessional? Are there any other options?

Thanks
