We are getting ready to replace 100+ years of wallpaper. The house is built entirely from old growth redwood with no drywall, only redwood planks, which make up our walls. It seems that a type of fine-mesh burlap was first tacked to the wood walls and then the wallpaper was attached to the fine-meshed burlap. Has anyone else encountered this instance and has anyone else come up with a solution, which does not involve installing drywall (it would probably require the removal of my floor moldings!). Thanks!
