Vinyl tile over Ceramic Tile

03/24/2003 07:53 AM twelton

I currently have a very outdated kitchen that needs to be completely remodeled. I will not have the budget to do so for a few more years. In the mean time, I am trying to find a way to make the floor look much better. It is a dark red ceramic tile 4" x 8".

Is it possible to put down vinyl tile over the top of the ceramic tile? If so, is there specific prep work that needs to be done? If this is not an option, does anyone have any suggestions for a temporary fix up to the floor problem?
