**Turns out that there's only 28" vertical from the washer outlet to the drain pipe inlet.**
A tad too low.
**Ironically, the washer worked fine for years and suddenly one day it wouldn't hold water.
That can happen. I've seen incorrectly installed appliances work Ok for years only to develop problems later on. It makes it hard for customers to believe the installation is the cause... even when correcting the installation fixes the problem.**
Odd problems like reverse polarity can work for years before giving us a problem.
I'm with Dan, correct the install now should give you less problems later on :)
