Washing machine trouble; burning smell

12/26/2002 08:12 PM rhillinaugustaga

Roper (Whirlpool) MDL# AL132VLO, SN CX3315530, direct drive motor part # 3349644 (mdl # C6P8XDBZ-3290)

The washing machine just quit! If I set it into reset on the tub level dial, I can get just a small amount of water to fill, due to it currently being full of water and clothes.

If I try to put the timer dial in any other position and start it, it does nothing, except that I can detect a burning smell. I\'m suspecting that the motor is gone.

Any help, suggestions or experience with this model and possible problems / solutions are welcome.

Thank you for your time.

Problem fixed, zero cost. Loose / bad connection at motor wiring harness.

No further action required.

Thank you all.
