I'm considering purchasing a house
in milwaukee area (WI) and noticed signs of water damage on the basement walls.
By looking at the associated image, what is your main take? Is the damage serious and affect the structure
of the house in which case I shall
refrain from buying the house or shall
I proceed and let home inspection tell
me the story in details?
Your inputs are appreciated.
Thanks

Rob,
I looked at the pictures you sent me and wrote a reply. Check your mailbox.
Although it is difficult to make conclusions based on photographs, there are a few signs worth noting. |

but also see signs of leakage on the corner,,, most home inspectors see the system & figure the problem's been resolved,,, BUT its not THEIR very fine home & they don't have liability.
if the area's damp, water's still coming thru the cinder blocks due to capillary intrusion,,, this cannot be cured by interior work.
you'll find an illustration at nationdry.(com or net) in flash which'll explain it much faster than i can here,,, i have no financial interest in that co altho i did work w/stuart years ago in ny/nj & still trust his ethics & work. |
