My father and I are currently working on several projects around the house, with the next being a new desk and office outfit. Both of which are going to be made of Red Oak. What is the best nail gun out there for us? We certainly need a nail gun that has enough power to penetrate Red Oak! I know that we should get a finish nailer, but what brand, what model? What kind of compressor do we need? In addition, our compressor will need ot accomodate more than one air tool since we will be working together. Thanks! |

if you want a lot of bang for your buck...i would recommend a combo kit by porter-cable ...it includes a 2hp 4 gallon pancake air compressor...a finish nailer w/ 2 1/2" capacity...hose/nails/couplings/accessory kit...all for $299 plus if you buy it before Dec. 31 there is a $50 rebate this setup will have plenty of power for working w/ any hardwood you plan to use i hope this helps...please post if you have any more questions |

I concur. I have both the PC finish nailer and stapler. They both do excellent work. If you are going to need 15 guage finish nails, either the Bostich FN15, or the PC would work fine. The nailer that comes with the kit are more for putting up trim than for making furniture, so you will need to keep that in mind as well. |
