My lid switch on my Kenmore 70 series (don't know the model number, haven't looked for it yet) broke yesterday and I'm so happy to find this thread. Could you be a little more specific about what two cables to cut and connect for temp solution before you got your new part? I could see that the broken plastic piece has two cables attached? Are these the ones and I can do it without removing the case? Also, how did you remove the case to put in the new switch. Many many thanks to your timely advice in advance.
