I know I have power to the dryer because the inside drum light goes on. However, the panel doesn't display anything when I press the control button to turn on the dryer. Can anyone tell me what's wrong?

Electric dryer? If yes, do you have both powers ( 240 volts AC ) that come to the dryer?

I have very little experience with these but at leats with a model# someone may have seen one or two before and can offer some tips :)

I have the same problem as above on my Model: GGW9250PL Whirlpool Duet Gas Dryer. It is brand new, never been run and the dryer light comes on but no response from the buttons on the control panel. I tried holding down the End of Cycle Signal button for 3 secs to remove the lockout of the control panel, but this does nothing. The washer works fine on the same outlet. I tried switching receptacles and only plugged the dryer in, no luck. Of course, I called customer service and they are closed early for training tonight. I am without a dryer for three days now. Any ideas?

Being just delivered and new, very possible a wires is just "off" somewhere or door switch isn't telling the control the door -is- closed = dead dryer :(

Probably best to leave it to the warranty service people, hate to see you get into the dryer and void your warranty!!

We just bought a duet gas dryer and it too, has a dead display, but inside light works. This is somewhat erratic as sometimes it will work, and when it does, we can get a few loads before it goes to sleep.
We bought it in the Poughkeepsie area, just in case we are all talking about the same dryer.

Where you purchased the dryer would have little to do with if they're the same or not. Appliances are identified by their *model numbers*. If you got the model number of yours, you should be able to tell if they're exactly the same model or not.

Thanks, but what I meant was that perhaps they were the exact same dryer. We bought this as a floor model at a retailer not famous for standing behind their products, and I was wondering if they took it back from the first complainer, and sold it to us.
It's going back to the store this week, so beware a Duet gas dryer floor model in the Poughkeepsie, NY area. ( Hint. Store initials BB )

Sorry, I thought you were implying that there may be some sort of systemic problem with the particular model of Duet dryer. I didn't realize you were thinking it was the exact same machine the other person had in their home.
