Who builds professionally?-besides Tommy

04/28/2008 03:07 PM dshively

Hey guys kind of a survey of who builds furniture for a living-I want to head and that direction, I have already picked T chisels brain on the subject but was hoping I might get a little more insight. Thanks

niche market

I made a few bucks over the years doing boat restoring, chris craft, thompson etc. I also got into making production jigs for various shutter companies. I now live in florida and some of the guys down here are doing ok in specialized woodworking. One guy is doing carving and another I know is doing custom wood staircases, he is doing extremely well.
So unless you got a great rep like
Tchisel its hard but if you can find a niche market you could make some serious bucks.
Hope this helps.
Carl

I don't know the guys last name, first name Bill, he works for a company called Florida Woodcrafters. They also do cabs and additions also. They have been around for about 20 years.
