Wife and i arguing about the .5 of a 1.5 Cape Cod?????

01/15/2007 08:59 PM cutler686

I recently purchased a two bedroom one bath 1.5 story Cape Cod home with an unfinished upstairs. My wife and I have been arguing about how we would like to do the up-stairs portion of the home.

My wife wants to make it a large master bedroom with a bathroom.

I on the other hand am thinking sole about resale because we have to move a lot for my job (moving about every 2-3 years). I am concerned because most homes are designed with the master on the first floor.

Again the space is .5 and not a full second story. It would make a wonderful bedroom and bathroom but I don’t want to spend too much time and money on a great living space if it is not going to add to the property to the fullest extent.

What do we do?
To small for 2 bedrooms…
But do I want to position my master w/ bath on the second floor?

Any ideas are suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Local Realestate valves

It all depends on what the local market is looking for. And I mean LOCAL. Like the houses on your block and a couple over.

Look for an agent or two that knows the neighborhood and ask them. But be honest about what you are wanting.

Many will do it for free. Using it for advertising that you will use them when it is time to sell.
