Wiring and Electrical costs for 1930's House

12/29/2007 04:30 PM hiker1960

I inherited a 1930’s house which I plan to renovate. The first thing on my list is to gut the interior. Then, call in the electrician for some much needed rewiring. This house is a 1300 sq ft ranch. Could someone give me a ballpark $$$ figure for the rewiring???

variables

Too many variables to give an accurate cost. Location, attic/basement access, local economy, basic layout vs custom, etc.

If you are removing all wall coverings, then it will be close to new construction pricing plus demo of the old wiring, temp power. Could be anywhere from $8K to $20K in this neck of the woods.
