I had a wall space insulated with spray-on cellulose insulation after the electrician put several electrical circuits in the wall cavity. The electrical wiring failed, ignited the cellulose and we had a small wall fire. Now, the electrician blames the insulation installer. The insulation installer blames the electrician. I have read on the net that blown-in cellulose insulation can cause electrical wiring to corrode. Has anyone found an explanation for this claim? What do contractors recommend I do to prevent it from happening again?

What does it look like now? IE, exactly where did the fire start?

Hire a lawyer to sue both contractors. Then those two will have to settle on each one's percent of responsibility!
