It's great being able to chat, I just want to say your work is amazing and I wish you the best with your success.
My question is about the workbenches you have. Are they bolted to the floor? they don't look that substantial from what I can see ( I have watched all the podcasts ) They also don't seem to move much when you are Chomping D.T.'s out with you teeth.
I hope to be in the business soon also, any words of wisdom?

hey mike ...welcome to the site...good question...what i did a few years back i bought a bench from lee valley for like a thousand dollars.it had a tail vise and all sorts of "must have "stuff....i hated it..so i sold it to a friend and decided to make my own...i bought a piece of butcher bolck 31x 72 and built the base our of hard maple i pretty much built the base as easy as i could...i ran grooves through the parts and put it all together with threaded rod and nuts and bolted it into the tpo...bought a vise and drilled all the holes in the top for bench dogs...i think it works pretty good....one day i will have a'woodworkers bench"but that will be to show off....this thing works awesome and it cost maybe 400 for the top, wood for the base and the vise...i think the vise was 90 bucks.....but any way its just one way to do it maybe you guys can take some pictures of your benches and let us know what you think....ok man gotta go
