Yo Yo Yo...Whut-up CHUMPS !!! Well since i cant keep up with all the chat rooms out there I asked that BobVila.com create a fun laid back pull no punches not your average soap box (so they gave me this). So, please put up a question on any topic and I will try to answer it the best that I can. Please send in your pictures of your latest and greatest. As you all know I am no master and just trying to keep improving just like you. So no matter what type of work I love to see all types and at any level. Just for fun get involved and lets see where this whole thing takes us......

Is being first a good thing???

Hey Tommy, and everyone else out there...

So, since I'm the first person to post, I'll post a pic of my first project... it's the kitchen from my old house, I did it about 5 years ago... it turned out really good....considering the only thing I'd done previously was rough carpentry.... but I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so after I played around with some wood and various tools that change the shape of it, I was good to go.... I figured I'd buy the tools, build the kitchen and then have the tools to goof around with later ( as opposed to having someone else custom build a kitchen for me )

Now I seem to be busy building kitchens or refacing cabinets for people and have 2 on the go right now, maybe I'll post some pics of them later.... I want to get into building fine furniture but I gotta get the current stuff wrapped up.

Does anyone else have a hard time trying to juggle their part-time woodworking job around their daily schedule?

take it easy everybody

Dave

Dave was worried about being number 1 at least it's better than being #2!

Tommy the show is great, it's entertaining as well as informative. It's nice to watch someone who works the wood instead of "whispering" to it:-)

Well Dave you showed us yours now I'll show you mine. This is a photo of my son's built in I did approximately 18 mos. ago. Hope you like it.

Peace Out!

The built in looks great Ron! I have to build something similar for my wife's office. She already had me buy 200+ bdft of poplar for it.... which is all sitting in the middle of the shop... I'll be sure to show her yours, I know she wants one with the wall colour or an accent wall colour showing through the upper shelving.

later boyz

Thanks Dave, glad you liked my built in. I used MDF since we were going to paint it. All the trim; crown, base and wainscotting is also MDF it takes paint great but the dust is terrible.

Tommy, sorry I posted twice I didn't think the first went through so I hit send again...it was my first time posting anywhere.

Thanks again Dave!

My son is your biggest fan! We both like the style of your show - a little fun and a little serious and great woodworking!
