acetone spill on expensive wooden table

08/02/2005 05:27 PM familyegghead

How can you fix an expensive wooden Ethan Allen table that has had fingernail polish remover spilled on it? (no it wasn't me, i am smarter than that!) It is a beautiful table with a high gloss finish on it, except where the spill is, that is now glowing white with no shine at all. PLease help, i have only had this table less than a month and now it looks awful. This table is actually about 30 yrs. old. It was given to me. Any help would be great! :)

A tabletop demands a perfect finish.
Few amateurs can accomplish this task.
A reputable refinishing shop should be able to make the top look as if it never had been damaged.
