I need to know how to get rid of red ants around the home for they even get inside the house. I live in Colorado if that makes a difference.

Red ants could be different but for other ants I do this;
I mix boraxo laundry powder with confectioner's powdered sugar 50/50.
Sprinkle it where you see them in numbers.
they think it is food because of the sugar coating. They carry it back to the nest. They eat it and die. The next generation comes to life and there is a ready made meal for them. They eat it and die.

Borates are not harmful to humans or other mamalls.
