asbestos vinyl tile

My husband and I decided to renovate our basement. Our goal was to remove the 70's brown, orange, and yellow carpet and cover the pre-existing tile with new tile. To our dismay, when he lifted the carpet, tile pieces were attached. Thus, he had to remove the tile. Fortunately, (because he was having a hard time) he did water the floor for the 3/4 of the project. He also sealed the air ducts because the glue fumes were so strong. We later found out the tiles were asbestos vinyl. We called in a professional to test the air and although there were fibers released there were very little. The numbers were in the ten thousandths. He told us to get hepa filtered air filters and air purifiers and that we are reasonably safe . Are there any other precautions we can now take? How many other homeowners have mistakenly done the same thing? We never would have known if were not for a family friend. My mother in law had already removed tile and insulation that may have had asbestos!
