attic insulating paint

06/17/2000 07:51 AM iveyhouse

I saw a product on one of the shows that was a paint that could be sprayed on the underside of the roof in the attic. It was reported to decrease the temperature in the attic by up to 60 degrees. I cannot recall the name (Reliance??)or the manufacturer. Anyone know of this product?

A question:
Wouldn't this cause a shingled roof to wear out faster? Sounds like it would reflect the heat back out (through the shingles again), causing even more heat buildup on the surface of the roof.
