Hello, is anyone out there? I asking anyone with any information as to how I might get rid of bats in my attic, please let me know. I don't know how many are there. One night I was sitting on the porch and I saw them flying around the edge of my roof. The next day I took a closer look and saw where there is two small holes in the eve of my of my house where the bats fly in and out of. I want to seal up the hole with some insulation foam, but want to make sure there are no bats in the the attic when I do. I don't want them to die in my attic and smell up the place.

If you are out there and have a suggestion that I can take care of myself let me know. I am presently unemployed and can't afford and exterminator, or parks and wildlife to come out. Maybe Bob will send his crew to Houston to take care of it for me. Now that woudl be nice!

It has been a while since I did this, but there are a number of sites that discuss bats and house to atract them (yes, they are very benifitial) and also when and how to get them out of an attic.

I have the same problem. I got in touch with a pest control company. They will install a one-way exit from the attic. Bats need to go out each day. So this is designed to let them out, but not back in. After a couple of days (4), the bats should all be gone. Then you either seal up the entrance or put screen over the roof gable.

If you have bats in your attic, do a little research before starting the job. Often, then job requires that you navigate steep roof lines and climb ladders.
