burrowing bees

08/27/2004 09:37 AM aec4600

We recently purchased an old colonial and added a slider to the back of the house. As a result, we ended up reshingling the back of the house. We have primed, but not painted the new shingles. However, we seem to have burrowing bees? (not sure if these are a real name) that live in an overhang in the back of the house. These bees are now burrowing their way into our new shingles. They aren't going into any of the other shingles in the house. Any idea of why they might be going after the new shingles and if there is any way to make them stop?
