cedar logs

06/01/2004 02:35 PM JenniferSavage

I need to find a source near New York City to purchase a very small quantity (1-3) of cedar logs. Round, minimum 8" in diameter, 4-8 feet in length.

If not in the immediate area, then a source who would ship the logs to me for a reasonable price.

Any ideas would be appreciated, as I've exhausted all of the immediate possibilities that I could think of (lumber stores only have squared timbers, if any, and mills, etc. are not willing to deal in such small quantities)

Thanks
Jennifer

You could maybe find a place to cut some down and debark it yourself and then sand down with an orbital sander.
Just a suggestion, because it might be pretty expensive to buy and ship to you.
I might be able to help as my contractor does log homes and such, but to send would be expensive.
