Hello: I have a cedar shingle roof that is 5 years old. Recently a company approached me about them applying a treatment to the shingles that supposedly will increase the life time of the roof. Is this a necessary step or just a sales pitch. The preservative was a parrafin based material and looks great but I am not sure it will actually do any good or even last very long. Any help is greatly appreciated. Steve |
